LANTERN – a light in the darkness

A theatrical paranormal research project.

In the 1970s/80s the Borderline Science Investigation Group scrutinised strange phenomena in the region and published their findings in a quarterly zine – LANTERN.

The Seagull Theatre seek enthusiasts of Lowestoft history and high strangeness to form a research group that will work alongside local historians to delve into the Lantern archives.

With a number of stories selected the group will  work with professional theatre makers to begin development of a new play inspired by the BSIG’s original investigations.

This is a cross-generational project for young people (13+) and adults.
